Jeff Lapera, a registered nurse originally from the Philippines now based in Sydney's North Shore, shares his transformative journey into landscape photography. What began as a spontaneous decision to capture his daughter's birthday with a borrowed DSLR evolved into a passion for seascapes and nature. Along the way, Jeff taught himself the foundational skills of photography, embracing its challenges, such as a camera-destroying mishap, with resilience and determination.
For Jeff, photography is more than a hobby—it’s a tool for mental well-being and a way to connect with like-minded communities. He emphasizes the critical elements of composition, light, and preparation, particularly in capturing the beauty of coastal and natural landscapes. Driven by a deep love for the environment, Jeff shares aspirations of furthering his craft by expanding his portfolio and potentially transitioning his passion into a career. He also highlights the potential of photography as a medium to raise awareness about environmental conservation and foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
