
On this episode of the #FutureFowardSeries I talk to Sibahle Magadla a Development Economist passionate about addressing Poverty, Inequality and Unemployment in Africa. Her major focus as an independent consultant is on providing technical support and advocacy to promote inclusive growth and sustainable development.
She has 10+ years of experience in the Private sector, Academia, National Government and Donor Organisations supporting numerous projects in Industrial policy, Labour Market Policy, and the Economics of Competition and Regulation.
Not only is Sibahle skilled in research, data analysis, and writing, she also enjoys policy advocacy, training, and facilitation. In July 2024, Sibahle moderated the panel session titled: The Nexus of Women, Capital and Entrepreneurship in Africa at the Women Deliver Conference in Kigali, Rwanda. In 2022, Sibahle was invited to speak at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Annual Development Conference in Addis Ababa, discussing promoting women’s employment outcomes and entrepreneurship in the Ethiopian economy.
Sibahle is also a career and mindset coach, supporting graduates and young professionals to navigate their careers in the best way possible. Sibahle holds two Masters degree qualifications: 1) MSc Development Economics from The School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS),University of London (funded by the Chevening Scholarship); and 2) MCom Economics from the University of Cape Town (UCT).
