Good morning Kyle! Let's catch up on what's happening in our community today, Wednesday, October 15th.
The weather is shaping up nicely with temperatures starting cool at 71 degrees this morning but climbing to a high of 91 degrees this afternoon under sunny skies. Humidity is sitting at 87 percent early on, dropping to around 29 percent by midday. No rain in the forecast, so it's looking like a beautiful October day in Central Texas.
Speaking of air quality, listeners will be happy to know that Texas is showing moderate air quality levels with an AQI of 56, which means conditions are generally acceptable for most people.
Over at Ascension Seton Hays Hospital, there was a heartwarming ceremony recently where Eden Dunn, a Hays County Sheriff's Office dispatcher, received recognition for helping save a 35-year-old Kyle man's life back in August. The man went into cardiac arrest at 2:32 in the morning, and Dunn guided his wife through CPR instructions over the phone until paramedics arrived seven minutes later. The man spent 17 days in the hospital but thankfully survived. It's a powerful reminder of how our first responders work around the clock to keep us safe.
Also happening today, Kyle's inaugural RISE event is taking place from 8:30 in the morning until 12:30 this afternoon. This new initiative promises big ideas, practical advice, and meaningful connections for local business leaders and entrepreneurs looking to grow alongside our booming community.
And if you're thinking ahead to the weekend, the annual Kyle Founders Parade and Market Days is coming up on Saturday, October 19th, celebrating our town's birthday with all the festivities we've come to love.
