We have all had moments when an elder or mentor drops some knowledge, “A Gem”, that stays with you throughout your journey. I’m setting out to collect as many of those gems and share them with the world. Through music, food, entertainment, education, traditions, laughter, business, love and so much more! We will find and treasure our black gems.

This gem is about owning your own perception. I share Carla Harris’, Managing Perception from a talk she gave to students at Cornell SC Johnson. I referenced another motivational message from Carla Harris “Letter to my 25 year old self”. The message is here is to not be defined by others but train others on the real perception of you, of Black America; our richness our beauty. Ending message from a one page introduction of who I am written in 2018 at for a leadership meeting in Belgrade, Serbia, music MayEye beat by Kinship Music.
