Patbingsu is one of the most beloved treats during the hot summer season in Korea.

The name "patbingsu" literally means red bean (팥, pat) + shaved ice (빙수, bingsu).

Traditionally, it is made by shaving ice and topping it with sweet red beans, condensed milk, rice cakes, and fruit.

These days, modern versions of patbingsu are often topped with ice cream, cheesecake, cereal, green tea powder, or even injeolmi (Korean rice cake) powder, creating all kinds of fusion bingsu.
