On this episode of Knowing Me, Knowing You, Trent has a community-focused, lived-experience conversation with queer art therapist and counsellor,
Nick Denson.
Trent speaks to Nick to find out what makes up his “story”, including how his younger lived experience informs him personally, as well as professionally as an art therapist. Nick shares his story, including:
* Moving around from a young age and how this helped with forming his identity and growing up queer,
* How being an “air force brat” informed his interest in art, and which led to his interest in art therapy,
* Working internationally with the Peace Corp., as well as working with the Coalition of Queer Creative Arts Therapist,
* His understanding of the concept of “Queer World Making” and how it relates to experiencing ‘queer joy’ and connecting to infinite possibilities, as well as
* Helping unpack his understanding of queer identity through the lens of art therapy.
