Grow in GroupsG1 Why does Jesus warn about the seriousness of causing others to stumble or sin (verses 1-2), and how might unforgiveness be a "stumbling block" like the mulberry tree’s deep roots? G2 How do verses 3-4 illustrate the balance between rebuking others and forgiving them repeatedly? Why is this process important in uprooting unforgiveness? G3 The disciples ask Jesus to increase their faith (verse 5). What kind of faith do you think is needed to uproot the mulberry bush of unforgiveness in our hearts? G4 Jesus says that faith as small as a mustard seed can command a mulberry tree to be uprooted and planted in the sea (verse 6). How does this image encourage us about the power of even small faith in overcoming deep-seated hurt or bitterness? G5 What role does forgiveness play in the process of removing unforgiveness from our lives, especially when the offenses are repeated G6 Verses 7-10 talk about the attitude of a servant faithfully doing their duty without expecting special thanks. How can this attitude help us when practicing rebuking and forgiveness, especially when it feels thankless or hard? Show Up and Serve S1 How can we practically cultivate the faith and heart posture needed to both lovingly rebuke and consistently forgive, so that we can uproot the mulberry bush of unforgiveness in our relationships?
