Episode 25-0815: XANADU at Gallery Theater

(00:00) Intro and the KMUZ Theatre Talk calendar.

(12:44) Greek muses suddenly walk out of an artist’s sidewalk mural straight into 1980s Venice Beach to help a struggling local artist realize his greatest dream: To create a roller disco called XANADU as a nexus for art, pop culture and roller skating. It’s a musical comedy/mythical love story based on the cult 80s film. Director Marla Nuttman and lead actors Paige Spellman and Remington Keough join Ed to talk about roller skating onstage, glitter, showstopper numbers, Mount Olympus and more. XANADU The Musical runs Aug. 29–Sept. 21 at Gallery Theatre in McMinnville.

(31:14) Wrap-up.

KMUZ Theatre Talk airs at 9 a.m. the first and third Fridays of the month on KMUZ 100.7 and 88.5 FM in the mid-Willamette Valley and on the KMUZ mobile app.
