In the first episode of Kiwi Leaders by Kiwi Leadership Network USA, we speak with Skye Duncan, the Director of the Global Designing Cities Initiative at National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO). Skye shares her journey, which starts in Papua New Guinea then leads to Dunedin, Wellington and ultimately to New York City where she lives today. Skye has more than 15 years of experience in architecture, urban design, and city planning and was part of NYC’s major redesign under Mayor Bloomberg to make it a more sustainable, resilient, livable, and healthy city. Today, Skye is the Director of the Global Designing Cities Initiative at National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) and is working with governments around the world to help them redesign their city streets to become safer and more sustainable. São Paulo and Fortaleza in Brazil, Bogotá in Columbia, Mumbai in India, and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia are just some of the major cities around the world that Skye and her team has helped redesign.
