Ban Kissa, Baat Banechar - Sunil Kumar Sinkretik | Kitab Ghar Hindi Books

“What do you understand by forest? Is a forest just a tangle of grass, trees and plants? No! certainly not! The forest is the bastion of freedom. Here freedom and independence are prevalent in every particle. The one whose inspiration is self-respect, whose nature is courage, this forest belongs to him...” If you have seen, heard, read the stories of Panchatantra written by Pandit Vishnu Dutt Sharma, or read ‘Champak’ in childhood, then let us continue the same sequence and discuss two books written by Sunil Kumar 'Sinkretik' – “Ban Kissa” and “Baat Banechar”. In these books, there is a lively depiction of the wild-life. The storytellers and the listeners are also the animals and birds of the forest, and the stories are truly engaging – such that one becomes eager to read the next after one. The Machchraja (Kingfisher), who is fond of storytelling, sits on a tree and narrates the story, and his friends – a cormorant and a turtle – are equally keen listeners. These stories are not only entertaining imagination, but also contain special information about animals, birds, forests, plants, their nature, even about climate change and its effect on forest life, and life values and moral ideals also come to the fore in conversations. Apart from being simple, the language also has a beautiful literary structure. Author Sunil Kumar himself has a keen interest in the wild-life and his in-depth understanding is clearly visible in this book. He often writes useful articles about animals and especially snakes on social media. Episode air date: 2-Jul-2022 Speakers: Arisudan Y, Shruti Nigam Welcome to Kitaab Ghar – your podcast for exploring and discussing some of the finest Hindi books – any genre, both old and new.
