किताब घर में आज की किताब – गीताश्री लिखित “अम्बपाली – एक उत्तरगाथा”

आम्रपाली की एक कहानी हमने पढ़ी थी आचार्य चतुरसेन की लेखनी से, जो हिंदी साहित्य में अपना एक अनुपम स्थान रखती है और ये किताब “अम्बपाली”, ये कहानी है वैशाली की अलौकिक पुत्री “आम्रपाली” की, कहानी उसके वैभव की, वीरता की, वैराग्य की, तथागत के साथ उसके तर्क की। सिमोन द'बोउआ ने बीसवीं सदी में जिस सामाजिक सिद्धान्त का ईजाद किया था कि केवल पुरुषों के हाथ से सत्ता प्राप्त करना ही अभीष्ट नहीं होना चाहिए, आवश्यकता इस बात की है कि सत्ता की व्यावहारिक परिभाषा में परिवर्तन लाया जाये। लगता है मानो अम्बपाली कोई ढाई हज़ार साल पहले ही इस निष्कर्ष को आत्मसात कर चुकी थी।

लेखिका गीताश्री की एक नई दृष्टि से लिखी किताब जो साहित्य के साथ इतिहास भी बताती चलती है। गीताश्री ने इतिहास और मिथक की इस बुनावट को अपने लेखन के ज़रिये न सिर्फ़ बारीक़ी से तराशा है, बल्कि आधुनिक सन्दर्भ में स्त्री-अस्मिता से जुड़े ज्वलन्त प्रश्नों को भी उतनी ही सहजता से उठाया है। और किताब के भाषा सौन्दर्य का एक उदाहरण यहाँ देखिए – “ऐसा अलौकिक सौन्दर्य उन्होंने समूची पृथ्वी पर नहीं देखा था। खुले, घने केशपाश, उलझे हुए, मृगनयनी, भौंहें कमान-सी तनी हुई, पंखुड़ियों-से नरम, भरे-भरे गुलाबी होंठ, बाँहें चन्दन की शाखों-सी, बदन पर कंचुकी, कमर में लिपटा छाल-सा कोई वस्त्र। अलग-से पैर, मानो अभी कुलाँचे भरकर लौटी हो।“
