Sandra is in a dead end with her life. With her two young daughters, she is working two jobs, living in a motel with rent allowance from the government, and also dropping off her daughters to her abusive ex-husband's house every weekend. Soon, she finds solace in building a small house for her and her daughters and also finding her chosen family in her employer and friends she makes during the house building process.
Today, I go over the movie and the importance of a chosen family and the issue with the government and their homeless programs, often leaving people stuck in the system.
