
The Blooms are at their wits end. Sam Bloom, a mother of three boys, ends up in a paralyzing accident in Thailand, leaving her paralyzed from the chest down. She is depressed, feeling sad that she is unable to be a part of her family and friends' life like she was able to be before. But the whole family suffers. Cameron Bloom, the husband, feels he lost his wife after the accident emotionally and mentally. Noah Bloom, the oldest son, feels guilt form her mother's accident. The other two boys, Rueben and Oli, felt lost without their mom happy. Then an injured bird lands at the Blooms' house and their start to help the bird, named Penguin, heal. With the healing of the bird, the Bloom family heals from Sam's accident too.
