Is It Worth It to Make and Sell Candles?

Click on the link below for more... https://www.trustthelink.com/is-it-worth-it-to-make-and-sell-candles-7-pros-and-3-cons/

My mom is retired and I thought about doing it with her for fun, making some money would be good two right?  There are some pros and cons to this business that I learned and I wanted to share them with you.

First the negatives, so I end on a high note.   The largest negative with the candle business is the legal steps and having a business plan. All that legal stuff depends on where you live, but it's something to consider.

The next negative is there really are a lot of options when it comes to candles. This is good, but it's also bad I'm thinking of the term paralysis analysis where there are too many options and you end up doing nothing.   This is why it helps to have a written business plan.   For example, with my blog, every step is written out, so it's almost like paint by numbers. I dummy-proof it for myself.  The third negative and this had to do with many businesses is they take time. Things usually take longer than you expect.

For the advantages, there really is a lot.   For starters do you enjoy doing creative stuff using your hands? You could enjoy the art of creating a candle.  Candles provide a lot of benefits and not just light and fragrance, but relaxation, stress relief, romance, decoration, and more. Knowing that you are giving someone this can be an advantage because you believe in what you are selling right?

Another advantage is there are many different ways to make candles and market them. You can market candles on various platforms such as Etsy, eBay, Craigslist, Shopify.   There is locally and they are easy to transport in your car, such as trade shows, farmers' markets and even just going to an empty lot with a sign on a busy street to sell candles.

The fourth benefit is keeping kids, parents or grandparents entertained and busy. Doing something other than watching TV or playing video games, has to be good. Not like I'm trying to knock those things, but you know what I'm saying.   The last benefit is you can earn an extra income and that is a great thing in these crazy times.

You could also put your parents or kids to work for you.   These are a few things I discovered. If you disagree or want to add something. Leave a comment below.   For more ideas on starting a candle business as well as some nifty shit I discovered about candles in general, click on the link in the description or go to trustthelink.com.   Bye for now.
