Kimbra recalls her music tour with Crosby Tyler to Nashville. She talks about performing in the smaller towns outside of Nashville, like Johnson City and Bristol. Bristol is considered the birthplace of country music, also noted for special venues, like the Carter Family Fold. Lower Broadway, the heart of the entertainment district in Nashville, is home to Whiskey Row where musicians perform nightly. Kimbra was impressed with the nightclubs, bars and museums that brandished the names of Kid Rock, Jimmy Buffett, Johnny Cash and Glen Campbell. Music legends Dolly Parton, Shania Twain and Taylor Swift all began their careers in country music and crossed over into the pop music scene.
Kellie asks about how the music scene compares to Los Angeles. She reminisces about the times she saw famous musicians Steven Tyler, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Idol, Billy Duffy and Duff McKagan make unannounced performances in Hollywood. They ponder the state of playing music in L.A. and discuss making a living as a musician in Nashville.
