Dr. Sam Lavis, DO ABFM joins host Dr. Dawn Ipsen, PharmD to discuss functional medicine. Topics include Dr. Lavis’s three pillars for healthy living, mold toxicity and treatment, testosterone and environmental estrogens, and direct primary care.
Dr. Lavis has always had an interest in peak performing no matter if it was in sports, academics, or his personal health. When he was a junior in high school, he developed a vision issue that ultimately led him to functional medicine. Since this time, it has been his life passion to stay on top of the latest science and implement it in his own life to see what works and what doesn’t. He loves bringing what he has learned to his patients to positively affect their lives. You can bet that if he recommends something, he has probably done it himself!
He attended medical school at Pacific Northwest University and is board certified in family medicine. He has also done extensive functional medicine training through the Institute of Functional Medicine.
