Fueled by his passion for Kansas City, the area in which he was born and bred, drummer Andrew Moore has launched a new podcast, KC Drummers and Beyond, celebrating the region’s musicianship. After the loss of a couple of local drummer buddies, Moore decided it was time to preserve the stories of his fellow percussive friends. He began to take them into his home studio to document their lives and the podcast was born, He will initially roll out three episodes followed by a new one every other week.

Pat Tomek has been a part of the Kansas City Music scene for decades. When he is not drumming for the internationally loved band, The Rainmakers, Pat spends his time producing, engineering, recording, (and playing on) some of Kansas City's most talented artist's projects. Pat discusses the early days of the Kansas City pop music scene and drumming for The Secrets and the 4 Skins. We cover a lot in this interview: dinosaurs, Rush, drum machines, Leonard Cohen, and much more. On a side note, I have seen Pat perform many times, his rock-solid drumming is the perfect balance of playing for the song and making things "feel" perfect. I had a great time getting to know Pat.
