Episode 4: #KalundeTalks with Moky Makura: How we tell our stories at Africa No Filter

Moky Makura is the Executive Director at Africa NoFilter (ANF), an organization, which began as a project under the Ford Foundation. It became its own entity in 2019 and aims to support the development of nuanced and contemporary stories that shift stereotypical and harmful narratives within and about Africa.

Moky Makura was born in Nigeria, educated in England and has lived in London, Johannesburg and Lagos. Prior to joining Africa No Filter she was the Deputy Director for Communications Africa at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation where she was responsible for building and managing the foundation’s reputation on the continent.

She has also worked as a Communications Director for the Tony Elumelu Foundation in Nigeria.

Moky is a well-known TV presenter, producer, author, publisher and a successful entrepreneur in her own right. She holds an Honours degree in Politics, Economics and Law from Buckingham University in the UK.

“The world is ready for lighter, uplifting stories that reflect this dynamic continent," Moky.

She tweets as @mokymakura
