My name is Christian Cliffgard, my pomeranian canine is Molly. I live in Elkhorn, WI, and grew up in East Troy, WI, next to the airport in East Troy. I am 51, Molly is 11 years old. I am married, my wife is Deb, and we also have 2 other dogs (Winter and Javi, both are heeler mixes.) I am an independent business owner/operator, performing tile installations mainly, and consulting for some companies and architects out there. Just trying to keep it simple. My background is in building construction, light engineering, and being resourceful in fixing vehicles. I grew up in the country, near a stream and small forest. As kids, my pops had us learn a bit of wild life, and we also had horses growing up. When my pops bought a new horse, I would test him/her out in the field. We also raised a raccoon from a baby (eyes not open yet,) to an adult. The raccoon was one of the gang of us kids. My family consisted of my 2 brothers and 1 sister. We also raised a hawk from a hatchling, rescued an owl, and had some cats and a couple dogs growing up. Growing up, being the oldest, my pops always utilized me to work on vehicles, home projects and more, so I would learn, and gain a better knowledge of building and fixing things. Our entire life was under the landing approach of the East Troy Airport, and we would see planes, helicopters, skydivers, and specialty craft every so often on their way to EAA Oshkosh. After high school in a small town, I got into college, and did some construction as well, which was part of my degree I was pursuing. In the end, I ended up making my leap in construction management, without finishing my degree, or the last half year of school. I had also went through an officer program for the USMC, which gave you the option to join as an officer upon graduation, without having to be obligated, since it wasn't a scholarship or program to fund my schooling. I passed the program, but in the end, it wasn't for me in the long term, so I accepted an honorable discharge for the program I completed. After school, my activities included whitewater kayaking, rodeo boat style, motorcycles, a little on mountain bikes. I had always been interested in motorcycles and flying. I got super interested in motorcycles after watching the movie TRON. As for flying, the steven speilberg movie '1941' with Wild Bill Kelsoe (John Belushi,) as the crazy army air corps P-40 pilot, is what initially caught my eye to flying, then of course STAR WARS was the next one to hit home. In 2001, after many attempts to get friends to go skydiving, and everyone backing out, I went by myself, and after that first jump (which was AFF, Accelerated Freefall,) I was hooked, and kept going to attain my license. Years later, 2008, I actually rented the house on the dropzone in East Troy for about 8 years, before getting married, and merging into one household. In 2013, I lost my dog of 18 years to old age, and within 2 days, I looked into Molly through a breeder in Foster City, Michigan (the UP.) She was 4 weeks at the time, and I came back 3 weeks later to bring her home. She became my shadow, and keeps me in her site at all times. She has a bit of separation anxiety, so I take her almost everywhere. I had her riding motorcycles within 3 months. After a year, and being fully grown, I started constructing a harness system for her to skydive with me. After having it all completed and set with doggles, we went, and she was secure , as long as she was with me. That first jump, she thought it would be like a car window, but then we jumped and she froze for a couple seconds, trying to figure this out. After that, she pushed her paws against the air flow of freefall, and just started looking around. After we landed, she was excited, and running circles around me, trying to figure out what was next. A few years later, 2018, I started looking into paramotoring, as I saw it on the net, and was interested. Shortly after, I found an instructor, and started training to become an ultrlight pilot. The training was easy, because I had over 10 years experience in the air under a canopy/wing. Molly went to all my training, and once I was ready to solo fly, I just kept on going, eventually taking Molly all the time I could. Only time she is not up is when it is under 45 degrees on the ground. After flying for years, I started going to Fly-ins, meeting others in this discipline, and enjoying the culture. (Every sport has a culture to it, like kayaking or skydiving..) You can talk about the sport with minimal detail, and others in that sport understand you without too much explanation. https://www.madisonvilleairport.com/ / emilyattheairport Meet Emily Herron I’m an Airport Manager at a general aviation airport in Western KY and a private pilot currently working on my instrument rating. 3rd generation pilot and owner of a Piper J-3 Cub. Content creator- I enjoy sharing about all different aspects of aviation and bringing some education and entertainment. I’m a University of Kentucky graduate (Go Cats!), wife to Seth and mom to Will.
Paul - Retired from full time 15 yr instructor 1 year ago and a Sun 'n Fun announcer, which is the 2nd largest airshow in the world. Robert - Born as Robert Jedrzejczak, in Milwaukee Wisconsin, lived in the surrounding states until my parents split up when I was 8. At 10, I moved to California to live with my dad, where I learned to surf in Santa Maria California. I used to jump off the dunes near Pismo beach and didn't even know what parkour was. White water rafting and cliff jumping soon followed. Throughout my adventures I ended up in Florida where I was only able to surf during hurricanes because the gulf side has little waves. I made primetime news twice on SNN for surfing Hurricane Charlie and then Katrina. But I wanted more! So I started skydiving in Homestead FL at Skydive Miami. While attending the school, I kept seeing people flying paragliders near the dropzone. They were flying every day and in skydiving, if the plane ain't full of jumpers, it ain't flying. Then, one day on my way to work I saw a guy selling 2 paragliders on the side of the road. I introduced myself and he introduced me to Paul Czarnecki at PlanetPpg. I started flying paragliders in 2010 and haven't been back to my other adventures. I love flying! I have participated in Sun N Fun airshow! I have shared my love of the sport with others to carry on. I will live every day till the day I die!
Meet Ryan...My powered paragliding journey began many years ago, like most everyone’s does, with obsessing over YouTube videos of people flying. I wanted to find a way to get into aviation but didn’t want to shell out the kind of money it takes to learn to fly and own a fixed-wing plane. A pilot friend of mine told me about PPG and I couldn’t get enough. I finally decided that I wasn’t going to waste any more time – so I contacted Mojo’s Flight School in Charlotte, NC and started classes. About 5 years later, I became one of the owners. Today, we’re 11 years old and have 3 sites across the Carolinas. I have my PPG1, PPG2, PPG3, WLPPG1, WLPPG2, WLPPG3 ratings and obtained my Foot Launch instructor, Wheel Launch instructor, and tandem instructor ratings from Noah Rasheta. Since the first day my feet left the ground, this is all I want to do. I love to fly because it is just me and the air with no distractions and no problems. The sky is where I go to decompress, to escape the day-to-day grind, and to have an absolute blast. When I’m not flying, or talking about flying, I’m thinking about flying, scouting for new places to fly, and checking the weather for the next flyable day. I’m passionate about this sport and helping others to experience that absolute euphoria that comes with flying a powered paraglider. I have worked to build on our legacy of integrity, safety, and community. It is important to me that all the students that train with Mojo’s leave with light, high-quality gear and learn to be great pilots that are safe and care about the integrity of our sport. Outside of Paramotoring, I like to spend time on Lake Norman on my boat, get out in nature with my Rhodesian Ridgeback named Walt, explore the local brewery scene, and travel.
I was born and raised in Brazil, moved to France when I was 14, and finally moved to LA when I was 24. Ever since I was a kid, I had a passion for dance and was self-taught. In France, I taught dance and performed in shows all over the country. When I came to America, I eventually signed on for a world tour with a US dance company where I was able to travel to over 54 countries dancing and teaching workshops for almost 6 years. A few years ago, I was on YouTube and came across a few videos about a guy flying to McDonald’s on his paramotor! I thought it was so cool and wanted to learn more. I watched countless paramotor videos and joined a forum but initially, I couldn’t afford the gear, so I waited few years and finally decided to go for it. I bought used gear on Craigslist and watched every video I could get my hands on. It took me forever to learn because nobody wanted to help and be liable if I was to get hurt so I had to self-train. Eventually, I kept pushing and became more and more passionate about the sport and with practice and luck took my first solo flight. From that first flight, I became addicted to flying. I had already been certified for skydiving, but this was a totally different experience. Soon when I wasn’t teaching dance, I was using my spare time to fly. Eventually, after more flying and training I was able to connect with paramotor brands that reached out to have me join their team. On the side, I also had friends that became interested in flying so I would informally teach them and help them get started in the sport. As I kept sharing my newfound passion with people on YouTube, I decided to make the jump and get my certification in order to officially open my paramotor school! My background is in dance and when I moved to LA, it was tough starting as a dancer from scratch. For months I was in a cycle where I performed in street shows on 3rd Street Promenade in order to pay for my hostel stay, then I became homeless, and then would find gigs again. Eventually, I signed on for a world tour with a US dance company where I was able to travel to over 54 countries dancing and teaching workshops for almost 6 years but for those initial years it was a real struggle to find steady work. Back when I was dancing BAD was an acronym for Born A Dancer, but once I started flying, I realized that the best part in life was to be Beyond Any Definitions, meaning you don’t have to stay stuck in whatever box you might have spent your entire life (for me it was a dancer) living; you can always become whatever makes you truly happy! STAYBAD, meaning to Stay Beyond Any Definitions, is to live life without limits and to push oneself to greater heights. One of my main pursuits is flying and teaching others to fly. It is extremely gratifying. As the instructor, my approach to teaching students differs from others in that I go at the student’s pace and work individually with each student. I am also a dealer for all the gear a student could need so I help walk them through that process and find what’s best for their flying journey. All my students become close friends and we have our own flying community where we meet up regularly to fly. It is a great forum to meet like-minded people and share the love of flight and I am always helping them along their journey. I teach everyday people how to fly into the sky! Paramotoring combines a paraglider with a motor that is used for flying. It is extremely gratifying to share the freedom and beauty of being outdoors in this unique way whether it’s flying over sand dunes, the ocean, poppy fields, it’s truly like nothing else. I have been a pilot now for six years and am a USPPA certified instructor as well as being certified in tandem flights. My flying school, Staybad Paramotor, is unique in that it’s the only training school in the US to offer one on one classes until my student’s first solo flight. I also offer unlimited training, meaning there’s no minimum or cap on the classes and we are the ONLY paramotor school in L.A County with flying sites all over southern California. Typically, people can learn to fly paramotor within a week or if you’re looking for a fun activity to do with friends/family, I offer scenic tandem flights along the coast where you can see what it’s all about and start training. When I am not flying, dancing, or teaching, you can find me creating videos that combine my love of flying with original content sharing of my adventures. Pricing: Full unlimited Training $3000 Tandem Flight $250 (40min) Mention Voyage LA article and received 15% off Contact Info: Website: www.staybadparamotor.com Instagram: @staybadparamotor and @Danielostaybad Facebook: / 581128196326453 Youtube: / @staybad

Meet Zak, he's a pretty cool dude!! Loves his flying!!
Meet Melinda Bliss! She was bit by the aviation bug back in 2020, and immediately fell in love with powered parachutes. She did the bulk of her training in Dunnellon Florida, starting with sport pilot, then proceeded to New Hampshire to work on her private pilot certificate. However, she wasn't ready to stop there!! She pressed on to become a CFI, and in a short 10 months, she accomplished her goal!! Since then she has been training students to be powered parachute land pilots at various locations along the east coast. My goal is to spread the word about this sport that she loves so very much, and to encourage other girls, that they can DO IT TOO ❤️
Streamed live on Feb 21, 2024Bring your questions, and ideas, to give give to the designer of this cool APP that lots of of use, and he will be happy to listen and write down our ideas for any improvements to Gaggle! Hennie is a tech enthusiast and software developer with a 12 year career in designing and creating software solutions for companies around the world. In 2020, his journey took him to the skies when he discovered paramotoring. Realizing the lack of modern apps for pilots, he created Gaggle, an app designed to enhance the flying experience for every pilot. Gaggle, now a staple in the paramotor community, boasts over 4,000 pilots that record more than 20,000 flights each month. It's packed with features to keep pilots safe, informed, and foster connections among them, including an in-flight computer, alerts about nearby aircraft, and the ability to share live-locations. Hennie's vision for Gaggle goes beyond simply tracking flights; he's committed to making it the go-to app for pilots seeking community, progressing their craft, and finding more opportunities to fly. This year, Gaggle has plans to introduce more community-driven features while refining existing functionality. Hennie is also busy working on his next product, a solution aimed towards the motorbike loving adventurers out there.

Streamed live on Oct 18, 2023 🪂Just Wanna Fly 🪂Meet Michelle Burns - I'm Michelle! I knew about Paramotor for a few years prior to training, but never had any interest in learning until a random birthday balloon gave me an opportunity to do a tandem foot launch and that flight sealed the deal! I trained in April of 2022 and it's been the best thing I've ever done! Paramotor has stolen my heart. The freedom and adventures we pilots get to experience is something I will never be able to put into words. I love the community and people I've met through Paramotor. It's a continuous adventure of a lifetime! Here's to many more flights, adventures and smiles!

Meet Jonathan - I was Born and raised and live in Flagstaff AZ. Growing up, my dad would always say that our family motto was “Work hard and play harder.” I’ve tried my best to do that. Me and my wife have six kids (all boys), and a garage full of toys that reflect my long history of playing with things that have a throttle or that float or that fly. I took an into paragliding flight in 1996 off of Haleakala in Maui and still remember that sense of wonder as the ground dropped away. I learned to windsurf when I was a teenager, and then learned to kiteboard in my 20’s then started playing with hydrofoils in my 30’s. As a kid I was constantly “designing” sail boats and catamarans and hydrofoil catamarans and wanted to be an airline pilot or an aeronautical engineer when I grew up. I didn’t become either of those things, but the curiosity remained. In 2020, a friend of mine sent me a video of Tucker Gott flying around Sedona & Meteor Crater, which are near Flagstaff, and it was like a switch flipped in my head. I knew I had to learn to fly Paramotors. I signed up for training with Epic Paramotor and trained in Eagle Mountain Ut with Noah Rasheta in May of 2021. I have around 170 hours of PPG flight time in. As a result of how much I love flying PPG, I decided I wanted to learn how to fly airplanes & bush planes, so I began training for my Private Pilot Certificate in September of 2023. I have 8 General Aviation training flights and 15 landings under my belt so far. My favorite things about flying PPG are the ability to explore new, often shockingly beautiful areas, the sense of freedom combined with the requirement for self-sufficiency, and the many incredible people I’ve met thru this sport.
