This month on "Just 4 The Record", we got one of the greatest performers in Santa Cruz on the show to kick off the new year, who has become a legend around town since he put his roots down here about 10 years ago; hailing from Brooklyn, by way of road, it's none other than DJ Monk Earl (@djmonkearl on Instagram). Known by most locals as the founder and resident deejay of Afrobeats Nite Santa Cruz, which has quickly become the hottest event in the city, offering a platform to international DJs to spin and dancers of all ages to bust a move, all for free! Listen in to get some background knowledge on the man behind the 1s and 2s, as well as the work he's been doing to bring equipment and deejaying experience to children in Ghana.
