Noriaki Kiguchi had to teach himself to be strong. After growing up as a sick child with his only sparring partner being tree be build himself up to being a world level wrestler.  He carried this  into his teaching of Japanese MMA greats like Genki Sudo, Rumina Sato, and Takanori Gomi.
