However, through scripture, we know that these types of thoughts are not from God or our own. On June 24th, the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the ruling on Roe v. Wade. Meaning that abortions are no longer a federal constitutional right, leaving the terms of legality up to each state. Statistics show that 26 of the 50th states are expected to make abortions illegal within the next thirty days. So with this in mind, should Christians respond to this situation and get involved? A popular phrase within the church is to "surrender to God." But, have you ever wondered, what does it actually mean to surrender or submit to the will of God. Outside sources may make it seem as if this is an oppressive idea or process. This is why I feel it is necessary for us to seek the word of God to find out what it actually means. Our world is constantly changing in all aspects. Which can lead to a lot of confusion when we desperately try to keep up with it. Thankfully, the word of God is active and consistent. A popular parable in the Bible is the lesson of a mustard seed. In this parable, we see that faith the size of a mustard seed could command a mountain to move or a tree to uproot. Essentially, the smallest amount of faith in the Lord can do the most extraordinary things. But, the question is, how do we hold onto these seeds of faith? Is there such a thing as a coincidence for a Christian? Does everything occur by chance or good luck? People think that most occurrences are just a coincidence. Nothing more than something that just happened by chance. But, scriptures states that life is far more complicated than that. Following Easter/resurrection weekend it's important to reflect on what Jesus went through for our sake. As well as the betrayal that he experienced from a multitude of people. You don't have to be an expert to enjoy your hobbies and skills. We often put so much pressure on ourselves to reach perfection. Many of us believe that we have to be good at a hobby, interest, or activity to truly enjoy it. What if we chose to focus on enjoying the process rather than having great constant results. One of my favorite shows on Netflix is about beginner bakers who attempt to make professional-level treats and cakes. Yes, they are bound to fail, but they still have fun and can win prizes. If you grew up in the church or were religious, you are bound to be familiar with the story of the ten plagues in Exodus. While reading through it recently, several themes were apparent to me. In today's episode, I cover three compelling themes from the story of the ten plagues. As well as some takeaways for us to apply to our own lives. Although many of us may already be familiar with these stories, it is important to re-read them for ourselves. Scripture being active will allow us to receive multiple messages from one section.
