The God Who Weeps
This profound exploration of grief and divine compassion takes us into the heart of one of Scripture's most moving moments: Jesus weeping at the tomb of Lazarus. We journey through John 11:17-36, where we discover something remarkable—our God doesn't stand at a distance during our darkest hours, but enters fully into our pain. The message walks us through the psychological stages of grief: numbness, yearning and searching, disorganization, and finally reorganization. But here's the transformative truth: we never grieve alone. When Jesus saw Mary and Martha mourning, He didn't offer quick platitudes or demand they 'get over it.' Instead, He wept. The Creator of the universe cried alongside them. This reveals the very heart of God—a God who doesn't rush us through our pain but walks every step of the grief journey with us. Whether we're mourning the loss of a loved one, a job, a relationship, or a dream, we're reminded that tears aren't weakness and grief isn't something to simply overcome. It's a sacred process of reconciliation, and God meets us there with hope, comfort, and the promise of resurrection life. We don't grieve as those without hope, because we serve a God who conquered death itself.
