Michael Penix struggles again in road loss to 49ers
Joe Patrick recorded his pod after the Falcons’ 20–10 loss to the 49ers on Sunday Night Football. The loss stung not just because of the score, but because Atlanta was dominated by a San Francisco defense missing key starters like Nick Bosa and Fred Warner. Michael Penix Jr. looked uncomfortable again on the road, completing 21 of 38 passes for 241 yards with several misses on routine throws. The offensive line — particularly Elijah Wilkinson and Matthew Bergeron — struggled to protect him, and Bijan Robinson was bottled up for just 2.9 yards per carry. On defense, the Falcons couldn’t contain Christian McCaffrey, who repeatedly gashed the interior front. Joe noted Divine Deablo’s injury as a turning point, exposing the lack of physicality at linebacker.
