The importance of Prayer. When we pray we speak to God in the Holy Spirit.We give thanks to God in prayer and thanksgiving.Praying builds up a relationship with God.We ask God for help for ourselves and our loved ones as well as interceding for others when praying. Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."So He said to them, "When you pray,say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.Give us day by day our daily bread.And forgive us our sins,For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.Therefore do not be like them.For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. Matthew 6:5/6/7/8. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 1 Corinthians 14:14. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints- and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6:18/19/20. Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Colossians 4:2/3/4 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" Mark 14:38.
