We start today with the exposition of God's words from John 8:28 -Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father hath taught Me, I speak these things. To buttress this topic, our guest who spoke in french, also dealt on the symbolic relationship between Numbers 21:4-9 (Moses and the fiery serpent) and John 3: 14-15 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” For the Fiery serpent, there were no home remedies, antidotes or help from others that would save the Israelite apart from looking upon the serpent on a pole, this was by faith alone and obeying God’s instruction. Likewise, there is nothing more that we can do to obtain salvation apart from what Christ has already done for us on the Cross and looking unto Him as the author and finisher of our faith Hebrews 12: 2.
Other similarities included both providing immediate salvation, were raised up to save men from death, spoke of sin on the pole, spoke of judgement, were easily available and to everyone, demanded faith.
Conclusively, Christ atonement for our sins is sufficient once and for all and our salvation is by faith alone 2nd Corinthians 5:21
