Episode 251: A Holiday at Bly Manor
Jacki and Marissa continue their celebration of Mike Flanagan, with a discussion of The Haunting of Bly Manor. Marissa crashes out about the death, being forgotten, and the afterlife. She decides to plan her own Halloween Hell House, where the only people who have to worry are horrible humans. The rest of us are going straight up. As Marissa spirals we are lucky that Jacki is here to talk her down and remind her that is the mess of life and being loves is all beautiful yet inevitably tragic. Is this the weakest entry in the Mike Flanagan Cinematic Universe? Maybe, but the ghouls agree that it is still an incredibly beautiful meditation on love, grief, and memento mori.
