Episode 253: Demons Be Gone!
Grab your holy water and your bible because we need to send these demons back to hell! While the Ghouls feel completely prepared and ready to assist you with all of your exorcism needs, please know they take all of their possession education from the movies. This week they continue their Fall of Found Footage journey with The Last Exorcism and The Devil Inside. Marissa tries to her best to get Jacki to agree to help her if in fact any of this is real while Jacki just wants to curl up with a good book and deny Christ. Whether its found footage or fake documentary style, the Ghouls are still loving the hell (see what I did there) out of all the movies so far. Check out the article Jacki mentioned by David Haglund. Up next is The Spooky Dooky October Extravaganza! Each Sunday in October the Ghouls will be diving into the Hell House, LLC franchise! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Episode 251: A Holiday at Bly Manor
Jacki and Marissa continue their celebration of Mike Flanagan, with a discussion of The Haunting of Bly Manor. Marissa crashes out about the death, being forgotten, and the afterlife. She decides to plan her own Halloween Hell House, where the only people who have to worry are horrible humans. The rest of us are going straight up. As Marissa spirals we are lucky that Jacki is here to talk her down and remind her that is the mess of life and being loves is all beautiful yet inevitably tragic. Is this the weakest entry in the Mike Flanagan Cinematic Universe? Maybe, but the ghouls agree that it is still an incredibly beautiful meditation on love, grief, and memento mori. Episode 249: Jacki's Bday Celebration of Army of Darkness
Hail to the queen, baby, and join the ghouls as we celebrate our hostess with the most-ess, Jacki one of our favorite regulars, AJ. This time, we do not try to scare AJ, but, rather, let him chuckle along at the silly shenanigans that are Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness. The gang celebrates the film's groovy FX. They give Bruce Campbell the props he deserves, and they chuckle at the films slapstick. Marissa, of course, goes on to bring everyone down with a feminist rant about the Evil Dead Movies. But Marissa does redeem herself with some fun history of slapstick comedy trivia. So happy birthday Jacki, you little she-bitch. You really are the heart, brains, and beauty of the ghouls empire. Episode 247: The Ghouls Celebrate Shudder
Join Jacki and Marissa as they celebrate another favorite Ghouls streaming service: Shudder. This all horror channel has been a JG staple for years, and it brings together the best older horror classics as well as the best in indie and Shudder produced horror. Specifically, they ghouls tackle the 2023 Shudder Original The Sacrifice Game. A surprisingly fun play on home invastion and demon possession films. They also talk Mandy, a 2018 Shudder darling. Marissa gushes over the trippy artistry of the film while Jacki celebrates both the softer side of Nic Cage as well as his unhinged crazy side. And while Jacki criticizes the influencer, capitalism driven cults of consumption that define modern America Marissa sadly misses the point and ironically begs those very same companies for sponsorship (But seriously... Shudder, Owala, Uggs, call us).
