It’s been 3 years and 32 days since the last episode. In this episode, I talk about why I stepped away and what’s changed, including self-work, piano, and writing. I share what it was like writing Lost in Goodland: A Memoir of Childhood Chaos, a book about growing up around addiction and instability, and preview Trauma Recovery Stories: Seattle, my first documentary featuring Donna Leigh, Iz White, and Fantasy A on trauma, art, and healing.
Goodland community leader Gennifer Golden House joins me to dig into the town’s history and character—from the 1887 county seat gun battle with Eustis to the homesteaders who staked their claims on the prairie. We talk about farming life past and present, the crops that still define Northwest Kansas, and how a small community built on grit is facing drought and change.
