Lauri Markkanen and Kyle Filipowski return to the Utah Jazz lineup in preseason game number three against the Dallas Mavericks. Lauri played fine in limited minutes but Kyle appeared reasonably rusty since he hasn't played a real game since NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Utah Jazz enter the season with an eye on developing the young roster of players and evaluating which players receive future Utah Jazz NBA contracts. Jazz are loaded with developmental prospects and as a result, playing time for some of the veteran players is likely spotty.

This preseason game against the Mavs was competitive in the first half but the team lacked energy in half number two and Dallas was able to pull away for a comfortable win.
