Short fiction that takes you everywhere—from distant worlds to dark dungeons

Nebula Award nominee Jake Kerr presents a new short story twice a week in this stunning fiction podcast that runs the gamut of the best genre fiction, from fantasy to science fiction and from touching drama to laugh-out-loud humor. Kerr, who spent years as a radio station disk jockey, narrates the stories himself and includes thoughtful commentary on why he wrote the stories and what they mean to him.

About Your Writer & Host

Radio DJ. Record company executive. Silicon Valley business development consultant. Digital audio executive for IHeartMedia. Jake Kerr’s career has had many winding paths. One thing has always been consistent, however: His love of telling stories, something he has been doing since he was a young boy in Pittsburgh.

He developed that love into a career as an acclaimed short story writer, having been shortlisted for the Nebula Award from the Science Fiction Writers of America and the Sturgeon Memorial Award from the Gunn Center for the Study of Science Fiction at the University of Kansas. His work has appeared across the globe and in the seminal Year's Best Science Fiction anthology.

Moving on to novels, Kerr has written two fantasy adventure series, and several science fiction novels. In 2018, he began writing for Hollywood, where he has sold a feature film based on his story “Wedding Day.”

He lives in Garland, Texas.
