
The author of Jailer, Acharya Shri Abhayshekharsuri Maharaj Saheb was born in Surat. Right from his childhood, Akshay (his name prior to monkhood) was distinctly bright, always securing the top position in his schooling days. He secured admission in VJTI college, Mumbai and was one of the Maharashtra state toppers in his selected field of Production Engineering. A chance encounter with respected Acharya Shri Bhuvanbhanusuri Maharaj Saheb, however changed Akshay's life. Understanding the true nature of life brought about a sense of detachment in him and in 1974 he got ordained as a Jain monk, Muni Abhayshekharvijay. Due to his intellect, in a very short period of time, he mastered several Jain scriptures and was soon bestowed the progressive titles of Panyas, Acharya and Shramnigannayak. Till date 59 youngsters have been initiated into monkhood under his aegis. He has delivered over 10,000 sermons on various topics ranging from life management to relationships to mind and money management to disaster and family management. Besides being a good orator, he is also a great writer. He has authored more than 40 books so far covering the art of living, loving and even the art of leaving!
