Jade Talks Travel is the go-to podcast about travelling independently, to off the beaten track destinations. As a travel expert (worked many jobs in the travel industry and travelled to almost 60 countries) I share stories from the road and practical tips on how to make travel accessible to all. I also interview other experts in their field.
On my website, you can book virtually any aspect of your trip.
My life has inadvertently been filled with travel. At 11 years old, my mum took me backpacking for a year through Asia and Europe. This ignited in me the idea that travel was life. I’ve since explored 55+ countries (so far) and managed travel agents, been a tour guide, worked on a cruise ship, worked in car rentals, taught travel and tourism, taught English in Japan, assisted iconic tourism businesses in New Zealand to sell more online and am now a freelance writer, podcaster and photographer.

So the aim of my travel podcast is to make travel more accessible by sharing years of knowledge from within the travel industry and as a traveller, lessons from the road, and I also interview travel industry experts with the ultimate aim of inspiring everyone who listens to get out there to travel and see the world. For those interested in working in the travel industry I also dedicate episodes on how to get into specific travel related jobs.

Travel isn’t just about ticking boxes and getting likes on Instagram. It’s learning about the world, seeing how other cultures do stuff and passing that knowledge on back home. It reduces material desires, removes prejudices, and increases tolerance. Most importantly, travel changes people and it's fun!

The easiest way to change the world, is for everyone to experience everything the world has to offer. But the more people travel, the more they see what the world is really like.

On that note, I’ve just released my twentieth episode and I still have plenty more exciting episodes to come including (but not limited to):

>Where’s the best place to spend Christmas (besides home)
>Packing up the family and moving to Fiji (I speak to a friend who did it)
>Working on a cruise ship
> Eco and sustainable tourism
> Festivals of Japan
> Long term travel - turning a dream into reality
> volunteer travel (in Africa)
> Working holiday visas

Of course there’s plenty of entertaining stories, many of which proved to be important lessons in life. If you travel, send me a postcard (head to my website) and I’ll read it out on air. Make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss out on future episodes.

Travel Photography

Learn how to be a travel photographer by first improving your travel photos. As a photographer who specialises in travel, I often hear “I wish I was a better photographer” so I’ve created an entire podcast episode of pretty much everything I’ve learned in 30 plus years of travel photography. From the basics of operating an SLR camera, to planning your photos, to editing. Everything you need to go out and create incredible images. I also include a section on phone photography, though the idea for this podcast is regardless of what camera you have, you can still create stunning images. All the photos I mentioned in the podcast, can be viewed on a blog post here or on the following link >> https://jadejackson.com.au/improve-your-travel-photos/Need to find the cheapest flights? Find them on my website here >>https://jadejackson.com.au/book-flights-hotel/Of course one of the best places to view my travel photos in action is in my travel articles (found at the bottom of the page). In the meantime, as a thanks for your patience, if you would like a free digital download of a Blue Mountains photograph (valued at $35) which is ready to print and frame, just submit your details here. For free iPhone Photography and Apple Photos Editing workshops, check out Today at Apple. To read how an entire weekend at Coachella was faked for Instagram, read the story here.If you’d like to check out all my photos, you can purchase them from my online shop, of course if you prefer ad-free blogposts then head to www.patreon.com/Jadejackson.
