Jade Talks Travel is the go-to podcast about travelling independently, to off the beaten track destinations. As a travel expert (worked many jobs in the travel industry and travelled to almost 60 countries) I share stories from the road and practical tips on how to make travel accessible to all. I also interview other experts in their field.
On my website, you can book virtually any aspect of your trip.
My life has inadvertently been filled with travel. At 11 years old, my mum took me backpacking for a year through Asia and Europe. This ignited in me the idea that travel was life. I’ve since explored 55+ countries (so far) and managed travel agents, been a tour guide, worked on a cruise ship, worked in car rentals, taught travel and tourism, taught English in Japan, assisted iconic tourism businesses in New Zealand to sell more online and am now a freelance writer, podcaster and photographer.

So the aim of my travel podcast is to make travel more accessible by sharing years of knowledge from within the travel industry and as a traveller, lessons from the road, and I also interview travel industry experts with the ultimate aim of inspiring everyone who listens to get out there to travel and see the world. For those interested in working in the travel industry I also dedicate episodes on how to get into specific travel related jobs.

Travel isn’t just about ticking boxes and getting likes on Instagram. It’s learning about the world, seeing how other cultures do stuff and passing that knowledge on back home. It reduces material desires, removes prejudices, and increases tolerance. Most importantly, travel changes people and it's fun!

The easiest way to change the world, is for everyone to experience everything the world has to offer. But the more people travel, the more they see what the world is really like.

On that note, I’ve just released my twentieth episode and I still have plenty more exciting episodes to come including (but not limited to):

>Where’s the best place to spend Christmas (besides home)
>Packing up the family and moving to Fiji (I speak to a friend who did it)
>Working on a cruise ship
> Eco and sustainable tourism
> Festivals of Japan
> Long term travel - turning a dream into reality
> volunteer travel (in Africa)
> Working holiday visas

Of course there’s plenty of entertaining stories, many of which proved to be important lessons in life. If you travel, send me a postcard (head to my website) and I’ll read it out on air. Make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss out on future episodes.

Travel Agents

Travel Agents

My podcast Travelosophy has undergone a revamp and is now called:Jade Talks Travel. Along with a new logo, you'll find even greater and more useful travel content, but most importantly you'll now be able to book the cheapest flights (including multi-sector itineraries) directly via my website → https://jadejackson.com.au. You'll also find incredible deals like round the world flights for under $1000 or Italy, France and Spain from $948!In the first episode of Jade Talks Travel, I highlight the dodgy side of travel including some of the travel agents I previously dealt with (who are probably in jail now) and how to avoid being ripped off by unscrupulous online travel agents. I go into detail about flight search engine comparison sites like Sky Scanner, Hopper and Kayak and how they fit in with retail travel agencies like Flight Centre and STA Travel. Most importantly I talk about how to ensure you get a great deal on your next flight, without falling victim to any sneaky traps that travel agencies and even some airlines will try on you. Links mentioned in the show include: Online Travel Agent Scams and Dodgy Tactics, check out the Book Your Travel page or download my travel booking app (for iOS) to quickly search and compare hundreds of airlines, hotels and book multi-sector itineraries, quickly and easily. The OTA comparison chart is a work in progress and will appear under the Book Your Travel tab on my website once it’s fully live. If you have comments or suggestions, please tweet me @jadekinsjackson, find me on Facebook @jadekinsjackson or send me an email via my website https://jadejackson.com.au. If you love the content I provide, then please tell your friends to subscribe, or leave a review on Apple Podcasts or your favourite podcasting app. Thanks for listening and don't forget to send me a postcard from your next trip.
