It's A Death Sentence: Death, Dying, Grief and Living After Loss
Carrie Smith & Emma Skipp
37 episodes
Welcome to It's A Death Sentence, the podcast that takes a lighter look at the heavier things. Hosted by this unlikely duo, Carrie an Anatomical Pathology Technician who carries out postmortems in a busy mortuary and Emma, a professional singer who has sang on stage in front of thousands of people. These women take a deep dive into all the facets of death, dying and the afterlife, by asking those questions we all have around death... What happens when we die? How do I cope with grief? What do I want to happen when I die? What happens to the body when you die? Death admin, what is it? How do I get use to the new normal? Is death funny? And that age old question... do dead bodies smell? This is a satirical look at taboo subjects and the mystery that death is shrouded in, Carrie and Emma use an informal setting to talk about their own experiences of death and expertise in these areas, they also invite guests to share stories of their loss and get people talking about the inevitability that faces us all. Please be advised there will be bad language, sensitive subject matters and humour, if you are easily offended this is not for you. If you are interested in taking part in the show or you have any topic areas you would like us to discuss please drop us an email, info@its-a-death-sentence.com.
