Conan O’Brien got the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at a very, very weird time in history, when the Kennedy Center, free speech, and the concept of comedy are all at major points of flux and controversy. So anyway, the show opens with a m@$turb@ting bear. 

Conan is a comedy hero for many reasons to many people, and this special, which won an Emmy, expresses that so many ways over. Kim and Jason break down the balance between subtle and overt political comedy, the concept of “dumb-smart,” silliness, and cynicism.
