In this episode I chat with a friend of mine who is a performer and screenwriter – Helen Kingston!
We discuss us meeting as extras on the set of the film ‘The Take’ back in 2014 and how long (but fun!) those filming days were! We also take a deep dive into Helen’s film she wrote – The Flood – a story which focuses on an immigration officer deciding the fate of an asylum-seeker and explores the dehumanising conditions experienced by refugees, as well as themes of determination, motherhood and hope. We also discuss screenwriting, the importance of finding your own voice as a writer and Helen gives us a sneak peek into some of her future projects!
