You’re not “just” a stay-at-home-mom; you are a Mother, Called of God. You are the backbone of the nation, raising the future generation of leaders. As Erika Kirk reminded us, “Your family is your single most important ministry.” Are you done living lukewarm and letting society tell you how to raise your kids? You’ve found your community of uplifting moms. Do you feel stuck in stress and conformity, instead of family connection and intentional living? This is your permission to take charge of your home and your life. Are you ready to use your time to be mindful and connect spiritually, but you don't even know where to start? You have found your place of peace and encouragement. Welcome to Intentional Motherhood: Emotional Regulation for Present Moms, Calm Kids, & Peaceful Homes. I'm your host, Kelsey Redd, a Mental Health Therapist turned Stay-At-Home-Mom of four amazing kids. Through a decade of infertility, I dreamt of the kind of mother I would be and the kind of family I would have. But motherhood is a whole lot harder when you're in the thick of it, and after battling through postpartum depression after my twins were born, and postpartum anxiety after having my third baby in less than two years, I have finally come to place where I love motherhood! I think it's the best job in the world! And I want to share wisdom learned through my real and raw experiences as a Christian mom to help you realize you're not alone and you're doing the most important work! Each episode of Intentional Motherhood offers actionable parenting strategies, real mom-life stories, and expert child-development insights from my clinical background & experience as a twin-mom and mom of four to help you navigate the chaos of motherhood with purpose, presence, and grace. This podcast is your go-to resource for faithful moms raising large families who want to create a family culture through spirituality, mindfulness, and adventure. Podcast episodes will provide you with practical parenting tips to embrace intentional parenting over reactive responses. Learn to be the mindful mom you want to be, and have adventures with your kids. Discover how to create a sacred family space in a secular world, foster a family culture rooted in faith and values, and raise joyful, well-adjusted children that you enjoy being around. From sacred family rituals like family mealtimes to emotional regulation techniques for moms and kids, this show equips you to build a nurturing home that reflects your Family Culture. 22 | Less Stress, More Dirt: A Realistic Plan for Nature Time With Kids & Why It's Always Worth It (Part 2)

In this down-to-earth and inspiring episode of Intentional Motherhood, host Kelsey Redd continues her nature series with a raw, real look at what it actually takes to get kids outside—and why it’s so worth it. From screaming toddlers to poopy diapers and forgotten wipes, Kelsey shares a hilarious and heartfelt story of a nature outing gone sideways, and how even that became a moment of emotional reset, connection, and growth.

You'll discover:

  • Why nature is the ultimate emotional regulation tool for both kids and moms
  • The science behind how even 10 minutes outside can reset your nervous system
  • Tips for making outdoor time simple, fun, and low-pressure
  • How unstructured play in dirt, grass, and rocks rewires your child’s brain for calm, not chaos
  • Ideas for starting family nature rituals that build connection
  • A sneak peek at Kelsey’s upcoming nature-based retreat for moms this September in the Utah mountains

Whether it’s a barefoot backyard moment or a messy river adventure, this episode will inspire you to ditch perfection, embrace the mud, and find healing in the beauty of the outdoors—even if you’re carrying a baby in one arm and dragging a scooter in the other.

🌿 Nature doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.

Let this episode remind you: Mother Nature has your back—even when it’s messy.

Mentioned in the episode:

  • Kelsey’s 2-minute guided nature imagery (from Part 1)
  • Upcoming Fall Retreat – Info in show notes & on IG: @creating.intentional.mothers
