La creciente presión del gobierno de Estados Unidos sobre los grupos criminales mexicanos ha alimentado una narrativa exagerada sobre su alcance, lo que podría llevar a sobrestimar su capacidad operativa en el país norteamericano.

Desde que Donald Trump asumió la presidencia en enero de 2025, su gobierno ha lanzado una serie de medidas bajo la llamada “Operación recuperar Estados Unidos” (“Operation Take Back America”), cuyo objetivo incluye “la eliminación total” de las organizaciones criminales.
