Una serie de ataques con drones han cobrado la vida de cientos de presuntos pandilleros en Puerto Príncipe y alterado temporalmente el panorama criminal en Haití. Sin embargo, las crecientes preocupaciones legales y el aumento de víctimas civiles han puesto en duda la eficacia a largo plazo de esta estrategia.

Las operaciones con drones contra pandillas en Puerto Príncipe habrían dejado al menos 300 supuestos pandilleros muertos y más de 400 heridos, todos considerados integrantes de grupos criminales, según un nuevo informe de la Red Nacional de Defensa de los Derechos Humanos (Réseau National de Défense des Droits Humains, RNDDH). Sin embargo, analistas de seguridad consultados por InSight Crime aseguran que estas cifras no han podido ser verificadas y señalan que, si bien se han producido bajas, el gobierno haitiano no ha confirmado cuántos muertos o heridos ha dejado la ofensiva.
