In this episode we discuss trauma and eating disorders with Dr Sophie Reid. Sophie is a clinical psychologist, researcher and co-director of the Birchtree Centre – a specialist centre in trauma, addiction and eating disorders in Sydney.
Often underlying an eating disorder is trauma. Trauma can also lead to a range of other mental health conditions. In this episode we discuss why that is, what exactly trauma is, what are the impacts of trauma, how can it be treated, and what are the goals of treatment.
