Bloody Civilian

How has 30 years of military rule affected Nigerians?

Nigerian Millennial Jill wants to find out. Raised in Lagos Nigeria, she spent the first 16 years of her life under military rule. She finds out how it's affected her, her family and the Nigerian psyche. And explores how the phrase 'Bloody Civilian' came to be.

She looks back at how the British colonial military was transitioned into the Nigerian military, revisits the Oputa panel and looks at the role rulers like Olusegun Obasanjo played in shaping Nigeria.

We hear archive from the Oputa panel petition of Fela Kuti's brother, Dr Beko Ransome-Kuti and hear lawyer Femi Falana.
