Fifteen years ago, I moved to Cebu alone to try working in a call center. I had a relocation compensation package with a 5-month bond. Meaning, I couldn’t leave the company for 5 months or else I’d have to pay the company back.
What I thought was going to be a 5-month trial of my work life turned into 5 years and many more. Indeed, time flies when you’re having fun (and sleeping the days away, haha). I loved my account and the people I worked with.
I left the company in 2016 to try working remotely and stop crying over how terrible commuting in Cebu is ✌️😅 It’s been an amazing life since then, not without struggles and rollercoaster experiences.. but this is what life is all about anyway.
I thought I’d celebrate by sharing a video of how I started and what you need to learn if you want to start the same way I did in my new video series, Career Chronicles.
Now working in marketing and client experience, I can honestly say that working as a call center agent before helped me become a better person and paved the way to better career opportunities for me, plus I got the chance to create my YouTube channel and share it with you.
