In this episode of Innovate at UL, we meet with Emma Morgan, CFO of Serosep Ltd, who discusses its collaboration with the University of Limerick (UL), which began several years ago. Serosep, a manufacturer of medical diagnostic kits, initially hesitated due to intellectual property (IP) concerns, but later realised the benefits and embraced UL's expertise. Key projects included improving freeze-drying processes and reducing cycle time from 48 to 24 hours. Funding from Enterprise Ireland and Research Ireland (formerly SFI) supported these initiatives. Emma emphasises the importance of building relationships and managing budgets and timelines. Future plans include continued collaboration to stay innovative and dynamic.
