Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a precursor to Alzheimer’s disease (AD), the most common form of dementia. MCI contributes to 60–70 per cent of dementia cases, an illness for which there is currently no cure.However, very early-stage existing therapies can improve and prolong cognitive function.
