Overview of Global Surgery Research with Dr. Ulrick Sidney Kamounye | 11-04-2021

Africa has only 1% as many surgeons as the US. Yet, over 90% of injury deaths occur in LMICs. The importance of high-quality research that will strengthen Global Surgery towards improving timely access to quality surgical care world wide especially in LMICs cannot be overemphasized.

More so, we received a plethora of questions from students and early career physicians interested in understanding the major concepts of Global Surgery and Global Surgery Research. The Research committee of InciSioN Nigeria thus responded with the Research Capacity Building Series.

This edition was facilitated by Ulrick Sidney Kamounye, a Research Fellow of Harvard Program in Global Surgery and Social Change (PGSSC).  Here, he gives an Overview of Global Surgery Research

Moderators: Adesina Adedeji MD and Olanipekun Ayomide
