In this episode of In the Know with Nina, Dr. Nina Crowley sits down with Dr. Marc-Andre Cornier, President, The Obesity Society, to unpack the evolving landscape of obesity diagnosis and treatment.
They discuss the Lancet Commission Report, the challenges of moving beyond BMI, and what the redefinition of obesity could mean for clinical care, insurance coverage, and early intervention.
The conversation also explores the role of body composition, the risks of compounded obesity medications, and why a comprehensive, long-term approach is essential in obesity management.
