Every speaker has a story to tell and something to share: How they got started, why they chose the specific niche and lessons they've learned along the way. Join me, Tsitsi Mutendi as I interview professional members about their personal journey in the professional speaking world, and how PSASA played a part in their career growth. As part of the “Speaking as a Business” series that airs twice a month, I host guests who speak on creating a speaking business, managing expectations and the 101 on what to do to build your speaking business.

In My Own Words with Bruce Wade: “Let me be your Strategy Adventurer - you shouldn’t be alone!”

When Bruce Wade was a child, his mother made him a Batsuit, and the superhero avatar stuck with him, given the similarities between Bruce Wayne and Bruce Wade.

In any good comic book storyline, there is a conflict between the superhero and the villain. However, in business, the strongest “villain'' is not a slow economy, government red tape, or even Covid. It’s the person in the mirror. It’s your own self-doubt.

Bruce believes that business is an adventure and he loves being businesses’ Business Strategy Adventurer. He sees this role not as simply a walk or model; rather, he helps business owners develop a strategy to overcome their lack of growth, develop new products and services, and ultimately build a strategy of freedom to overcome barriers.

He first heard of the PSA while gatecrashing a speaker's showcase event whom he looked up to. That event opened doors, and since joining in 2019 he experienced the wisdom and knowledge of other speakers and wished to do the same for new members. In October 2020, Bruce became a Professional Member of the PSA.

This episode of In My Own Words is presented by Charles Hsuan.
