Happy Friday! In today's episode I share my anxiety prevention tool kit. I grew up as a super anxious person, and didn't really discover ways to truly manage it until I was 21 years old. I'm 24 now and I can definitely say my anxiety has been under control for the longest period of time that I can remember! These are easy things you can do to prevent anxiety and panic attacks in the moment- write these down in your notes app to reference for the next time you're having an anxious moment!

Method 1: EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique / psychological accupressure)

Pressure points:

  • Pinky side of wrist
  • Evil eye
  • Temples
  • Side of nose/under eye
  • Cupid's bow
  • Chin
  • Chest
  • Underarm
  • Top of head

Tap your pressure points using your pointer and middle finger while saying affirmation that are most relevant to you- use your palm for your chest/head


Method 2: Massage your ears


Method 3: Orienting / The 5,4,2,3,1 method

  • Name 5 things you can see
  • 4 colors you can see
  • 3 textures you can see/touch
  • 2 things you can touch
  • 1 thing you can hear

Method 4: Sideways Gaze

  • Interlock your fingers and place them behind your neck, lean into your hands
  • Look to your right side for 30 seconds or until you yawn/salivate
  • Repeat on the left side
  • End with bilateral stimulation (Butterfly tapping)

Method 5: Legs up on wall

  • Lay on your floor / bed and place your legs up on the wall for anywhere from 5-20 minutes
