In this episode we interview Ivan Okello; who recently completed his Masters at Dalhousie University under the Faculty of International Development Studies. Ivan works as a Black Student Advisor at Mount Alison University in New Brunswick. Ivan shares his journey from Kampala, Uganda to coming to Atlantic Canada.
He talks about thinking differently from his peers in Uganda and choosing to do Undergraduate studies in 'Gender & Women studies'. He shared how he 'Made it' in Atlantic Canada and how he attracted opportunities to work during his studies at Dalhousie University. He also shared with us, his process of locating and prospecting a job.
In a nutshell, anyone interested in Social sciences or wanting to work in a similar field should listen to Ivan's story.
